A Coach's Story...A Powerful Process
"Within the first two years after my initial coaching training, I met with a team member for a coaching time. This person arrived needing some clarity on how to proceed in a certain area of ministry. The feeling was that we could focus on one aspect during that one-hour time and then follow that up with the next steps at a later time.
This person was unclear on what to do. However, after 45 minutes they had discovered previously hidden root issues, found clarity, developed action steps on what to do next, and had worked through the things they thought would take weeks.
This is not how all coaching meetings go, but I am not exaggerating when I say coaching has been the most powerful process I have implemented as a leader in helping my team members (and our team) move forward in living out their calling.
This is why I am excited about coaching and want others to learn the skills. I am not a great coach, but the system and skills are not difficult to learn, and they do their job with those who want to move forward. Duke, ACC, started coaching in 2014 and first facilitated this workshop with Keith Webb in 2015. Coaching has transformed the way he leads and parents allowing him to let the Holy Spirit take the reins in empowering friends, colleagues, kids, and clients to fulfill their calling. Experiencing this transformational model motivated him to teach others. Duke is married to Laurie, and they have 7 children. They served in Central Asia and Turkey for 18 years before moving to Denton, TX in 2019. Besides coaching, Duke works with leaders around the world helping them to live out their true identity and true calling in Jesus.

Recommended Pre-Reading
Please read The Coach Model book by Keith Webb before attending. You can purchase it here (Kindle or paperback). Reading the book will give you a significant boost in acquiring the skills and understanding the concepts. If you are not able to read it before the workshop, we recommend reading it afterwards to cement the learning. (Note: Affiliate link).
